The start of the year is an exciting time for us here at ITA, as we start to download and process the Architecture & Technology Fellowship applications, and this year we were certainly not disappointed. This very attractive offer of two, fully-paid and full-time PhD positions at ITA attracts very strong applicants from notable academic institutions.

This year, we received close to 200 applications, with candidates applying from across 47 countries, with 45% of them being women. We were delighted with the diversity of the applicants - this is exactly what ITA thrives on, and actively promotes within each of our research groups.

As part of the application process, candidates must submit a CV, motivation letter, research statement, and a portfolio. It was encouraging to see many applicants with very strong, prior research experience and able to clearly formulate and articulate their research proposals.

All applications will be reviewed, and a short list of 6 candidates will go through to the final round, during which they will be interviewed by all of the ITA Professors. The lucky two will be decided on soon after. We will be announcing the final two names later in April this year.
